Recreation at Deer Haven Acres Lodge
In addition to relaxing at our lodge and beautiful rental cabins, there are a number of recreational activities are available to guests at Deer Haven Acres Lodge.
Bird watching and wildlife viewing is at the top of the list of recreational activities. Our 280-acre wildlife preserve is home to many species of birds and game animals, including whitetail deer, turkey and other birds, and wildlife native to central Wisconsin. This wildlife doesn't get much human pressure, so you'll find that it's easy to observe or photograph these animals in their natural habitat.
A few hiking, rock climbing, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and mountain biking trails that wind through our preserve, providing guests with easy access to the beautiful Central Wisconsin scenery. But you can feel free to veer off the trail for a closer look or excellent photography at anything that catches your attention. Huge rock bluff formations in the preserve.
Bring your four-wheeler or snowmobile if you're in the mood for a little excitement. There are a few places designated for ATVs or snowmobiling where you can ride them as wildly, or as calmly as you please. There are numerous snowmobile & ATV trails in the area. We now have snowmobile, atv, & waverunner rentals available with advance notice.
We also have a new outdoor sand volleyball court & 2 outdoor roof covered pavilions with picnic tables for your entertainment, reunions, corporate retreats, picnics, weddings, etc.
Families & groups looking for lodging near Petenwell and Castle Rock Lakes – Wisconsin ’s second and fourth largest lakes - we have what you're looking for. So you can get out fishing on either of these great lakes, and stay at a world class lodge. Or if you want a more relaxed day of fishing, fish in our two acre pond where there's no shortage of bass, bluegill, crappie, perch, trout and even catfish. And we've got plenty of fishing poles if you forget yours, or don't have one.
If you'd like to do a little shooting, we're more than happy to pull a few clay pigeons for you on our trap range. Or we'll turn a few pheasants loose, if you'd like to go after the real thing.
And finally, there's the lodge. There's no shortage of relaxing activities to be found inside. Click here for more information about our lodge.
